We are very proud to be named as one of the 470 pubs listed in the Michelin Eating Out In Pubs Guide 2018. The Michelin Eating Out in Pubs 2018 guide recommends the top dining pubs and inns throughout the UK and Ireland.

GRANMARSTONBURY - PRIMARY SCHOOL DONATION

Delighted Head Teacher, Cathy Gouldstone, had a grand day out recently when she accepted a cheque for £1000 raised at a music festival.

The North Marston Church of England Primary School was presented with the coffer-swelling cash by Pilgrim Pub landlord Brett Newman who hosted the GranMarstonbury music festival in the summer.

Cathy said: “With money so tight in education this is a really lovely boost to our finances. I must give a massive thank you to Brett, the Pilgrim Pub team and the musicians, who all performed for free.

“We are only a small school and every penny really helps in supporting the youngsters in their early years.”

The GranMarstonbury Festival was held in the tiered garden behind the Michelin-Guide listed pub in North Marston, just six miles outside of Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire.

More than 20 acts performed on two stages to raise the money and provide a fantastic day of music for the villagers from North Marston and Granborough.

Last year the same event raised money for the sports field – which is shared between the two villages.

Brett said: “Being a community pub is at the heart of everything we do – and hosting the music festival to raise money for great causes in the village is part of that ethos.

“This year we picked the school to benefit because like us it is a key part of the village and what makes this place so special.”
